To the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, : The memorial of the representatives of the Religious Society of Friends, commonly called Quakers, in the state of New York and parts adjacent, respectfully showeth--That your memorialists, believing that Congress will be disposed favorably to consider and as far as possible remedy all infringements of religious liberty arising under existing laws, beg leave to solicit your attention to the law "for enrolling and calling out the national forces, and for other purposes," passed by the last Congress; and to point out the incompatibility between its requisitions, as generally understood, and the obligations of religious duty
